Hear the biomedical scientists of tomorrow
debate the research of today
The Debating Science Issues International Finals event is comprised of three debates and draw schools from the entire island of Ireland. Two semi final rounds whereby Leinster v. Ulster and Munster v. The West ensue. Lunch is served and the winners of the two previous rounds advance to the All Ireland Finals. The winning team is announced and trophies are awarded.
This video taken on 29 April 2015 at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland captures the essence of the competition. The video was produced by our partners Aoife Maccormac and Garvan Doherty at Biomedical Diagnostics Institute at Dublin City University.
The 2015 sponsor of this lively event is Science Foundation Ireland, through its education and outreach programme, SFI Discover. SFI wants to help people to consider, question and debate the key issues in science and society, and supports projects like Debating Science Issues that encourage people of all ages and from all walks of life to be informed, inspired and involved in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
Thanks very much, SFI Discover for your generous support and dedication to innovative, interactive, educational STEM projects!
